The “RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation” has successfully completed its training program for solar power station designers and installers!

On November 21, 2024, a certification ceremony was held to celebrate the graduates of a 10-week training course “Solar ReStart for veterans” organized by RePower Ukraine. A total of 47 participants – 28 installers and 19 designers – gained the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to launch their careers in renewable energy. This nationwide initiative attracted applicants from across Ukraine.

The program is a key part of the foundation’s strategic mission to bolster Ukraine’s energy security and foster the growth of green energy. A unique aspect of the course was the integration of theoretical lessons with practical training at the Renewable Energy Training and Practice Center. Participants also had the chance to visit operational solar power plants, where they saw systems in action and engaged with engineers to deepen their understanding.

This training opened doors for veterans to the high-tech solar energy industry. With their new competencies, they are ready to become sought-after specialists and drive the growth of this promising sector. By the time of graduation, 8 installer graduates and 1 designer graduate had already secured employment. Additionally, around 20 participants plan to start their careers or establish businesses in solar energy soon. This initiative not only supports veterans in transitioning to civilian life but also strengthens Ukraine’s energy market and economy.

During the certification ceremony, the foundation’s director, Marina Zamfir, remarked:

“This course is not just about education; it’s an investment in Ukraine’s recovery. Through projects like this, we create new opportunities for our people and bring the country closer to energy independence.”

The program was made possible through partnerships with leading international donors and Ukrainian organizations committed to restoring critical infrastructure and advancing renewable energy.

The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partners, trainers, and participants for their invaluable contributions to this vital project. We are confident that these 47 new specialists will be the driving force behind transformative change in Ukraine’s green energy sector.
