RePower Ukraine Foundation has launched a new cycle of Solar ReStart 2026, a professional training programme designed to develop practical skills and strengthen Ukraine’s workforce in the renewable energy sector.
This year, the programme received 468 applications for 40 training places, demonstrating strong demand for professional training in solar energy. Of the available places, 26 are reserved for veterans, women veterans and their family members.
Solar ReStart 2026 provides training in two areas: solar PV installation and solar PV system design. Over the next three months, participants will combine theoretical learning with specialised software, practical sessions and exposure to real-world solar technologies.
For veterans and women veterans, the programme offers an opportunity to build a new civilian career, strengthen existing technical skills and explore employment or self-employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
At the same time, Solar ReStart responds to a wider challenge facing Ukraine’s energy transition. The development of a more decentralised and resilient energy system requires a growing number of qualified specialists capable of designing, installing and maintaining renewable energy systems to a high professional standard.
Workforce development is one of RePower Ukraine Foundation’s key areas of activity. Alongside implementing renewable energy solutions for communities and critical infrastructure, the Foundation invests in professional training and skills development to support the long-term growth of Ukraine’s renewable energy sector.
The programme also contributes to strengthening links between professional education and the needs of the labour market. By combining technical knowledge, practical training and industry-relevant skills, Solar ReStart helps prepare specialists who can contribute directly to the deployment and maintenance of renewable energy systems across Ukraine.
International cooperation plays an important role in making this work sustainable. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, RePower Ukraine is able to strengthen not only access to professional training, but also its quality, relevance and alignment with the skills required by employers in the sector.
Solar ReStart 2026 is implemented within the project “Green Energy Training Courses for Veterans in Ukraine”, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania under the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme.
