Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsya region – In a significant move towards a greener future, the RePower Ukraine Foundation has teamed up with the Ladyzhyn City Council to move the city’s energy transition. A Memorandum of Understanding, jointly signed by Yaroslava Denisova, Director of RePower Ukraine Foundation, and Oleksandr Kolomiets, Secretary of the Ladyzhyn City Council, marks the beginning of a promising journey towards renewable energy adoption.
Ladyzhyn, which heavily relies on coal for its energy needs, is embracing a sustainable vision for Ukraine. The missile attacks targeting the Ladyzhyn Coal Thermal Power Plant exposed the city’s vulnerability in maintaining a stable energy and heat supply during the harsh winter months. In response, the city and its local authorities have embarked on a mission to bolster energy security and reduce dependence on fossil fuels in the near future.

One of the primary objectives of this partnership is to assess the solar potential of all municipal buildings in Ladyzhyn. By harnessing solar energy, the city aims to diversify its energy sources and decrease its carbon footprint significantly. The commitment to renewable energy aligns with Ukraine’s broader efforts to transition away from coal and build a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
The collaboration between the RePower Ukraine Foundation and the Ladyzhyn City Council exemplifies the dedication to fostering a sustainable Ukraine. Together, we are paving the way for a greener and more resilient Ladyzhyn, demonstrating that a transition to renewable energy is not just an aspiration but a necessary step towards a brighter future for all.
Ladyzhyn is a charming town that truly cares about its natural surroundings and is determined to reduce its dependence on coal. With its serene atmosphere and a strong commitment to environmental conservation, Ladyzhyn has embarked on a journey towards a greener and more sustainable future. The town’s dedication to preserving its natural beauty and fostering a cleaner energy transition reflects its progressive spirit and a genuine concern for the well-being of both its residents and the planet.
