RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation, a member of a consortium of non-governmental organizations (EcoClub, EcoAction, Energy Act For Ukraine Foundation, RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation), in collaboration with GIZ on behalf of the German Government, is pleased to announce the selection of 16 communities for the implementation of projects in the realm of renewable energy.

Our initiative is designed to provide comprehensive support to communities in implementing decentralized renewable energy systems, fostering a sustainable and environmentally clean future.

Selected communities will have the following opportunities:

  • Collaborate with experts to develop technical-economic justifications and project cost documentation for renewable energy projects.
  • Receive consultations from independent experts.
  • Receive support from civic organizations during project implementation.
  • Undertake renewable energy source construction projects

Attention!

  • The competition is open to local self-government bodies, excluding those in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia regions, and Crimea.
  • Applications will be accepted until December 3, 2023, through this online form.
  • Only applications from municipal property entities with clearly specified project implementation objectives (e.g., schools, hospitals, kindergartens, elderly homes, heating or water supply enterprises, etc.) will be considered.

The estimated project cost ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 euros. The selection of contractors will be based on competitive criteria, and service payments will adhere to market prices.

The community selection procedure consists of three stages:

  • Analysis of a brief application.
  • Submission of a detailed application with a comprehensive project description.
  • Participation in an interview with representatives from civic organizations and GIZ.

Selection Criteria:

  • Quality project description with specific details, including technical solutions, technical and economic indicators, potential obstacles, and community benefits.
  • Building readiness for project implementation, including proper technical condition and no major repairs needed for networks. If the project involves a rooftop PV-lant, the roof should not require repairs.
  • Demonstrated presence and experience of the project representative.
  • Ability to initiate the project promptly.

The project is scheduled to run from November 2023 to September 2024, with the following primary goals:

  • Promote the development of decentralized renewable energy systems in Ukrainian communities.
  • Implement renewable energy projects in 16 communities to showcase their effectiveness and inform about the economic and environmental benefits of these energy systems.
  • Enhance the capacity of local authorities to implement projects in the field of renewable energy.

The initiative ‘Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Ukraine’ is part of the larger project ‘Renewable Energy for the Stability of Ukraine,’ executed by GIZ on behalf of the German Government.
