October 16 marks the start of the RePower Ukraine training course “Solar Start: an educational course for veterans and IDP” that provides an opportunity for the Ukrainian war veterans and displaced persons to gain competencies in design and installation of solar PVs.
The program got off to a good start after it received three times more applications then the organizers expected announcing it in September.
Funded by the Embassy of the United Kingdom, the 16-week project aims to train new professionals for Ukraine’s green energy sector and offers career transition for retired soldiers and people displaced by the Russian invasion.
The free course has a mixed format of online and offline and is tailored to the needs of the injured soldiers. Our training program will help students get up-to-date knowledge and skills through lectures and on-hands experience at solar generation facilities.
Most importantly, RePower Ukraine will assist the course participants with future employment in Ukrainian green energy companies.
We congratulate our students on the start of their education and believe they will soon be able to contribute to the development of green and sustainable growth of Ukraine’s energy sector.

This project was created by the RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation under the “Support to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)” Program in Ukraine with financial support from the British Embassy. The program is implemented by Crown Agents in partnership with International Alert and in cooperation with Crown Agents in Ukraine.
