A team of Igor Belkin surgeons had been working at the Orikhiv Civil Hospital until the devastating attack by Russian missiles forced them to relocate to a mobile stabilization point located 5-10 km from the front line. The surgeons now operate from one of the many mobile surgeries, working day and night to stabilize the wounded and prevent further loss of life.

The mobile stabilization point serves as a crucial lifeline for those injured in the conflict, providing emergency medical aid and stabilization for the wounded. The medical staff of this mobile surgery comprises 2-3 surgeons and the same number of anesthesiologists, all working tirelessly to save the lives of Ukrainian people. Over the past year, emergency aid was provided here to 3.5 thousand people.
Russia destroys the country’s energy system and is especially focused on breaking down critical infrastructure near the front line. Last autumn-winter, Russian missiles damaged numerous energy facilities across Ukraine.

“Electricity has literally become one of the main tools of doctors today; it saves lives. The availability of uninterruptible power supply in hospitals is a critical condition”, emphasizes Igor Belkin, the head of the surgery department at Orikhiv Hospital in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Due to the high intensity of use, backup power equipment wears out quickly, and hospitals constantly require new batteries and generators. It is, therefore, extremely important to provide medical institutions with continuous backup power.

Despite the challenges posed by the energy supply, the team of Igor Belkin surgeons and their colleagues at mobile surgeries around the front line are doing everything in their power to provide life-saving medical care to those in need. Their unwavering commitment to their patients serves as a shining example of dedication and courage in the face of adversity.

As the Russian aggression continues, it is imperative that we support the valiant efforts of healthcare workers by providing them with the resources they need to carry out their critical work. The mobile stabilization point is just one example of the innovative solutions that are being developed to provide medical care in the midst of war, and it is our duty to ensure that these efforts are fully supported and funded.
