The devastating statistics of the energy system destruction in Ukraine:

  • As of August 2024, more than 9.2 gigawatts of generating capacity in Ukraine have been destroyed, which accounts for over 70% of the country’s electricity generation.
  • Currently, there is a 2-gigawatt electricity deficit in Ukraine, which is expected to rise to 4 gigawatts during the heating season.

Hospitals need emergency help to ensure a stable electricity supply!

  • Due to the relentless shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure and the resulting power outages, hospitals are facing an increasingly urgent need for a reliable energy supply for the stable operation of critical departments.
  • By implementing cutting-edge solar power technologies paired with battery energy storage systems, we can guarantee the continuous operation of medical equipment in hospitals, providing them with the much-needed energy independence.

PV systems already in place, ensuring vital power supply to hospitals:

Rooftop PV Plant for the Irpin Central Hospital

The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation has successfully implemented a 25 kW PV-project with a 40 kWh battery energy storage system for the Irpin Central City Hospital.

“The fall and winter of 2022-2023 have demonstrated to us how crucial it is to be energy independent. This is now the most important goal for our hospital and for all critical infrastructure to become fully autonomous”, – Anton Dovgopol, chief physician.

Rooftop PV Plant for the Kharkiv City Hospital

The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation has successfully implemented a 51,8 kW PV-project for the Clinical Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 17 in Kharkiv city.

“Each solar panel we’ve installed is a physical piece of resistance. Despite Russia’s unprovoked aggression, we will keep our operating theatre running. Patients can continue receiving care. The lights will stay on.”, – Dmytro Cherepov, chief physician.

Rooftop PV Plant for the Kharkiv Children Hospital

The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation has successfully implemented 30 kW PV-project with 43 kWh battery energy storage system for the Kharkiv Children’s Hospital.

“We have had the privilege of installing solar panels with the RePower Ukraine fund at the 17th hospital. This has ensured a constant power supply, even during outages, benefiting the medical facility. I am deeply grateful for this support and look forward to similar cooperation in other medical institutions”, – Ihor Terekhov, the Mayor of Kharkiv.

Rooftop PV Plant for the Brovary Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital

The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation has successfully implemented 24 kW PV-project with 29 kWh battery energy storage system for the Brovary Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital.

The project was implemented by the RePower Ukraine foundation in close cooperation with the Brovary City Council, Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Brovary District Administration, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, demonstrating the effectiveness of partnerships between the public sector, authorities, and medical institutions.
