A consortium of civil society organizations (RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation, Ecoclub, Ecoaction, Energy Act For Ukraine Foundation) is implementing the project "Renewable Energy Sources for a Sustainable Ukraine", which is carried out by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Overview: 16 pilot communities have been selected for the project. The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation is cooperating with 4 communities, namely: Mena City Territorial Community, Konotop City Territorial Community, Sosnytsia Settlement Territorial Community, Kremenchuk City Territorial Community. Renewable energy sources, specifically solar power plants, will be installed at 4 critical infrastructure facilities in these communities, allowing them to operate uninterruptedly. Training has been conducted for employees of facilities with installed renewable energy sources in each community. About the project: The main goal of the proposed project is to assist Ukrainian communities in creating decentralized renewable energy systems for their own production and consumption.
