The RePower Ukraine Charity Fund is implementing the Evaluating Solar Potential for Municipal Facilities project for the second Ukrainian community. This time, the calculation and visualization of solar potential will be performed for 16 municipal buildings in the Slobozhanske community, Kharkiv region. Local authorities, heads of municipal institutions, NGOs, and community stakeholders will receive recommendations on installing photovoltaic systems and thermal collectors on the roofs of critical infrastructure. The project includes calculating the approximate cost of PV instalations and estimating savings on electricity consumption for each facility. Overview: The Slobozhanske community faced an energy crisis when the Zmiivska TPP was destroyed by a missile attack from russia on March 2024. Currently, Slobozhanske is in a problematic situation regarding its residents' electricity, heat, and water supply. Electricity is being supplied through temporary solutions, which we do not disclose for security reasons. The local and regional councils seek alternative ways to ensure the community's energy supply. Understanding the significance of sustainable energy, the city authorities have signed a memorandum with the RePower Ukraine Charity Foundation ...

Alex Diachenko2024-07-17T18:16:47+00:00Our RePower Ukraine Foundation is implementing a project – Evaluating Solar Potential for Municipal Facilities in Ladyzhyn City, that involves calculating and visualising the solar potential of the roofs of 20 municipal buildings in the Ladyzhyn city, and providing recommendations for installing photovoltaic systems and thermal collectors. Overview: The Ladyzhyn City faced an energy crisis when the Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant, its primary source of electricity and heat, was targeted by missile attacks from russia and seriously damaged. Understanding the significance of sustainable energy, the city authorities have signed a memorandum with the RePower Ukraine Charity Foundation to implement joint initiatives to accelerate the city's energy transition to renewable energy sources. About the project: The project entails a precise evaluation and visualisation of solar potential using solar mapping technology. This involves the analysis of various factors such as solar radiation, topography, building geometry, roof shapes, and shading. The objective is to provide detailed recommendations for the optimal placement of solar panels and thermal collectors for 20 municipal establishments in the city. Tasks: Conduct ...
Portable power stations for Okhtyrka Central District Hospital
Alex Diachenko2024-07-17T18:22:47+00:00The RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation has provided four portable ALTEK 1075.2 W/h power stations to the Okhtyrka Central District Hospital. Overview: The Okhtyrka hospital is one of the oldest in the Sumy region - it is 100-year-old. Its medical staff was forced to live and work in the hospital basement for the first 45 days of the war as the city suffered relentless bombardments. The hospital was the only medical facility in the area that remained operational during the shelling. The hospital performs more than 2,000 surgeries and handles up to 200 deliveries a year. The establishment has a highly qualified medical staff comprising 40 specialties, with its emergency and urgent care departments operating 24 hours a day. Challenge: Located in Sumy Oblast, 50 kilometers from the border with russia, it faces all the front-line challenges. The constant enemy attacks caused serious damage to the energy infrastructure of Okhtyrka as the city was shelled for 30 days in a row. The missile strike that targeted the Okhtyrka thermal power station in the first ...
Enhancing Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital with energy equipment
Alex Diachenko2024-07-17T18:29:46+00:00RePower Ukraine Foundation continues to empower healthcare infrastructure in Ukraine. This time the must-have energy equipment was provided to the Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital of Intensive Care, located in Pokrovsk City. Overview: The Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital of Intensive Care plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing specialized care to critically ill patients in the war-affected region. This is currently the largest medical institution in the Donetsk region, controlled by Ukraine. The Perinatal Center of the Pokrovsky Hospital is the only facility in the region where children are delivered and nursed. There are three bomb shelters on its premises, which are currently being prepared to provide comprehensive medical care. Challenge: One of the main challenges faced by this hospital is the unstable electricity supply. The Russian occupiers systematically destroy energy infrastructure facilities, resulting in an unreliable power supply. Additionally, there are voltage fluctuations that cause power outages and damage critical medical equipment. Such equipment is essential in the intensive care units and the perinatal center, where premature infants are cared for. Solution: RePower ...
