Last week, the RePower Ukraine Foundation took part in the UK’s largest renewable energy exhibition and conference — Solar & Storage Live 2025 in Birmingham.
We were hosted at the stand of Solar Energy UK, with whom we signed a memorandum of cooperation at last year’s exhibition. This partnership has already delivered tangible results: one of the most important projects for the Slobozhanske community in the Kharkiv region — a 34 kW solar power plant with a 35 kWh battery storage system for the local hospital.
Commissioned in August 2025, the system now fully powers the hospital’s main building — the outpatient and polyclinic department. This project has not only reduced the hospital’s dependence on an unstable grid but also ensured that critical medical services remain operational even during power outages caused by Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure. Read more about the project here.
We showcased the Slobozhanske Hospital installation as a flagship example of our cooperation with UK companies, encouraging more partners to join us in strengthening the energy resilience of Ukrainian hospitals and communities.
Our ambassadors in the UK — Nick Arnold, Jonathan Bates, and Kirsty Berry — represented the Foundation at the exhibition. They shared RePower Ukraine’s mission, highlighted the impact of completed initiatives, and presented our plans for future projects.
“It was great to have an opportunity for face to face conversations at Solar & Storage about fund raising, equipment supply and support for Repower’s mission. Always good to be able to show people the amazing life-saving work the Repower team can do with the donations we receive,” said Kirsty Berry.
We are deeply grateful to Solar Energy UK for their hospitality and for promoting the Slobozhanske project among the UK’s business community. We also thank our partners — Photon Energy, Segen, Midsummer, ESS Group, and NextEnergy Capital — for their invaluable support with equipment, fundraising, financing, and awareness-raising.

Our participation in Solar & Storage Live has already helped us draw attention to the next steps: installing solar-plus-storage systems for hospitals in the Poltava, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
